USSSA 12AAA WORLD SERIES JULY 12 - 19, 2009 • Grand Prairie, TX   "IT'S A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!" *Enter Online Here for World Series Hosted by Grand Prairie Boys Baseball* Include Team Name, Age, City, State, Phone # (No Obligations) Congratulations on an outstanding season and welcome to the 2009 USSSA Baseball World Series.  Your World Series host will do everything possible to create an experience that the players, coaches, and families will remember for a life time!  Teams do not enter the World Series with the host; your USSSA BASEBALL STATE DIRECTOR will enter your team in the appropriate age of play.  The World Series will be played at Waggoner Park in Grand Prairie, TX, July 12-19, 2009. USSSA Baseball uses a pool play / bracket play format in its World Series.  Teams will be seeded in pools by USSSA Points where they will play a round robin.  Following pool play teams will be re-seeded into the double elimination championship bracket or single elimination consolation bracket based on pool play results.  The exact format, (e.g., number of pools, quantity of teams in each pool, etc.), will be set by the World Series Tournament Director following USSSA Baseball Guidelines and being approved by the USSSA Baseball National Director.  Teams are guaranteed five (5) games. IMPORTANT NOTE: All player's first names, last names, and birth dates must appear on the roster as they do on the Birth Certificates (see USSSA Rule 3.07).  Failure to comply with this rule will result in your team being prohibited from participating in the USSSA World Series!  Team Credentials will be checked in at the USSSA World Series with photocopies of Original Birth Certificates or Approved USSSA ID. IMPORTANT NOTE: All players participating in USSSA Baseball World Series play shall have photocopies of their Original Birth Certificates or Approved USSSA Photo ID in the possession of their team manager AT ALL TIMES.  Failure to have a photocopy of the Original Birth Certificate or Approved USSSA Photo ID available upon demand will result in the offending team losing the game, being ejected from the World Series, being placed last in the standings and forfeiting all awards that would have been awarded at the World Series. • WORLD SERIES RULES • .    1. Any player who before May 1, 2009 reaches their 13th birthday shall not be eligible to participate in the 12U division. 2. Players may play up in an older age division but never down in a younger age division. 3. All players must be fully uniformed which includes matching team caps, matching jerseys with non-duplicating numbers at least 3" in height, matching pants and matching socks. 4. All coaching staff must wear matching team caps and be properly dressed.  Athletic type shorts are allowed. 5. Team caps must be worn on the field by defensive players. 6. Protests on uniforms will not be allowed.  The Tournament Director is responsible for uniform legality. 7. Metal spikes are prohibited. 8. A dual earflap batting helmet must be worn by all players on deck, at bat or on the base paths and all minor aged (17 years of age and younger) bat boys / girls must wear a dual earflap batting helmet when outside a dugout. 9. The catcher must wear a full-use catchers helmet an mask. 10. No Food or Drinks are allowed to be brought in park. Only small ice chest with rags and Team coolers (1) per dugout allowed. No Bottled Drinks, only a Cooler with a spout will be allowed. 11. Team Credential Check-In is for team Managers and one additional Coach only per team. • PRE-ORDERED ITEMS - PICK-UP • TBA   • OPENING CEREMONIES • AIRHOG STADIUM 1600 Lone Star Pkwy Grand Prairie, TX 75050 Players and Coaches may stay and attend the game with the Ft Worth Cats, fire works will follow TENTATIVE - Monday, JULY 13, 2009 • 4:00 PM - 8:30 PM • PLAYER SOCIAL & SKILLS COMPETITIONS • SUNDAY, JULY 12, 2009 • The Player Social & Skills Competitions will follow the Manager's Meeting on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Mike Lewis Park.  This is a wonderful time for players from different teams, states, and countries to meet and trade team pins.  The Skills Competition will be designed to involve all players.  Awards will be presented to the champions in each age division.  This also is a FREE event, open to the public and all family members, friends and supporters are encouraged to attend.  Schedules will be posted the Friday before the event so that teams know when they are scheduled to do which events.  Rules for the skills will also be posted prior to the event.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  Pin Trading has become a huge tradition at USSSA World Series.  Players, coaches, and parents will have opportunities to trade pins throughout the week including Player Social & Skills Competition.  Team pins are not mandatory but certainly adds to the fun of this special event. We do encourage every team to bring some small item like pins to trade with the other players and teams.  If you decide not to go the pin route, we suggest contacting your local chamber of commerce or visitor’s bureau about obtaining items to trade.  We will also have a team parade and many teams will bring items such as beads or other things for the players to throw to the crowd.  This is not mandatory, but it also adds to the fun for the players.  We can assist with getting beads if your team is from out of state and does not have access to items to use during the parade. • WORLD SERIES ADMISSION • Admission during the World Series for persons 13 years of age and older will be $7.00 per day per person or $25.00 per person for a World Series Pass.  Children 6 - 12 years of age will be $5.00 per day per child or $20.00 per child for a World Series Pass.  Children 5 years of age and younger are admitted FREE.  Admission applies to everyone except participating uniformed players and a maximum of three (3) coaches per team.  All individual coolers are prohibited. • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION • If you need additional information regarding the USSSA World Series please contact the Tournament Director at  genecampbell@sbcglobal.net.
