Basic explanation of new and returning player assignment rules for 2010 Season Recreational League (also known as Class "A") (consult the official GPBBI rules for full explanation of this and all the rules)

Any non-returning players registering at the GPBBI office or Bowles Life Center during open sign ups which did not play in the GPBBI Spring 2009 Recreation League will be placed in the Recreational League Player Pool and will be assigned to a recreational team based on school attendance and/or school cluster.

Returning players from Spring 2009 Recreation League may stay with the same Head Coach from the Spring 2009 League or may opt to go into the Recreation League Player Pool by going to the GBPPI Office or Bowles Life Center during open sign ups and registering to play.

  • NOTE: ALL PLAYERS SIGNING UP AT THE GPBBI OFFICE or BOWLES LIFE CENTER DURING OPEN SIGN UPS WILL BE PLACED IN THE RECREATIONAL LEAGUE PLAYER POOL.
New Head Coaches may protect up to 4 players using the player protection form. All other open spots will be filled using the recreational player pool.

Returning Head Coaches from a Spring 2009 Recreation League Team may keep all of his/her players from their Spring 2009 Roster. These players will be treated as protected players and the parent will be required to sign the team protected player form.

  • If the Team and Head Coach were forced to move up in class by USSSA and GPBBI rules (based on wins and power rating for 2009) then the Head Coach must register the team in the Select (class "AA") League or disband the team.

  • If the Team and Head Coach were not forced to move up in class and the Head Coach from the 2009 Spring season doesn't have enough returning players to fill his/her team; then the GPBBI league representative assigned to their age group will assign enough players to fill the player vacancies on the team based on school attendance and/or school cluster rules.

Basic explanation of new and returning player assignment rules for 2010 Season Select League (also known as Class "AA")(consult the official GPBBI rules for full explanation of this and all the rules)

All Select League teams must bring a full roster of players to registration to register the team to play in the Select League. No player assignments will come from the open sign ups Recreational League Player Pool. There will be no recruiting allowed in the GBPPI office. No exceptions. Coaches conduct your tryouts and player recruiting prior to sign ups, not at the office. We have added a Message Board to aid you in recruitment of players and announcement of tryouts.
